Silk (The Lamentation)
May 25, 2024
I miss you.
This is neither poem
nor sonnet.
It is a lamentation.
I need you.
This is neither loneliness
nor lust
It is homelessness.
I feel you.
This is neither hallucination
nor clairvoyance
It is emptiness.
I miss you still.
And the way you whisper
my name and say
Silk.
I wish you
The very best of life’s offerings.
The antithesis of life’s sufferings.
Since that is me -
I wish you
Me.
This is an excerpt from my forthcoming book ‘Pullouts & Placebos’
